My name is Chris Perrault and since 2019 I have been living with IgA Nephropathy (IgAN), a form of rare kidney disease that often leads to kidney failure. Since my diagnosis, I’ve been managing to live with my kidney function just high enough to avoid end-stage. That has recently changed to the point where I have been put on a waiting list for a deceased kidney donor.
The purpose of this page is to reach out to potential live donors. Live kidney donation has several advantages over deceased donors (though both are extremely valuable). As part of this effort I also hope to use this page to not only gain a new kidney but to also inform those who are new to organ donation. I hope to answer some common questions, dispel some myths, and highlight online resources that do a lot better of a job explaining these topics than I can.
